Good one, thanks Justsilver

I do not know, is it worth it, but Platinum Plus / Prestige looks cool.
It has to be something, that can't be purchased for the money.

Where there is a will... there is a way...

I will be a platinum member, by the same method I am a MC member. I can go to the RCM mint boutique in Ottawa, and buy a box of two dollar circulation strikes in rolls, and a box of circulation strike loon dollars in rolls. Yes, the mint boutiques sell rolls of circulation coins struck in Winnipeg. The purchase in the mint boutique counts to my MC account.

Then, I take the coins to the bank (after I have searched for high grades and errors)...

Never really kept track of how much I spent at the mint over the last year and deep down I didn't really want to know haha. Apparently I just got over the gold level. With only one month left before the June 30 cutoff I wonder if it would be worth it to max out the limits on the 20 for 20 and 50 for 50 coins to get the platinum level. Would be nice to know if that free premium coin collection case is going to have much value on the secondary market if its not something I end up wanting to keep.

That's a really good idea SPP-Ottawa, I didn't realize the boutique sold mint rolls, do they sell them for face value / no tax? I am in Winnipeg and could try stopping by the Mint here.

"The Masters Club program year runs from July 1 to June 30 and membership is evaluated annually. Once you qualify for a membership level, you will receive those benefits for the remainder of the current and following program year." based on this, if you achieve platinum after July 1st, you will get the benefits, the free box, for this year, AND the next year, so 2 free collector boxes, is this correct?

Wonder if the collector boxes will be masterminded by the same person who designed the canoe?

It says Platinum Plus ($5000) gets access to a personal rep. I am not at that level, so does that mean I will lose my rep?

What has a rep done for many of us? Would many of us spend another 1000.00 to get a free 20 to 30 dollar case.

I am disappointed by this new MC program.

I was looking forward to some form of customer loyalty program that translates to discount on buying their products... GW, CC and CA all have their loyalty/VIP programs

And someone need to spent $2000+ for a free case, which may not worth more than 50$ if bought without the RCM logo, to me is a consolation prize.

And those 3 coins that are designed exclusively for Gold and Platinum MC members, there is no guarantee what kind of coins they will be. If they are kilo gold/silver or 1oz gold/platinum coins then it will be a moot point for many people.

Now, there will also be some surprises for Platinum Plus and above members... people can only hope those are some good stuff, and not an invitation to their coin reveal events, etc..

Discounts sounds good, but they open a door for "buy for low and sell for high" to every MC. This really should be for dealers, who spend a lot.

Cases - you right....they only not worth to be an MC.
I do not need case with logo, I need quality cases for specific size and amount of coins.

I either missed or nobody pointed out that silver MC members will have only 2 days before public release vs. one week.

I agree. That RCM has never offered quality cases for sale, of various sizes and shapes, to store all the products they've been selling for years is possibly one the reasons their customers like me who buy for longterm retention eventually just quit buying. Since I don't see a highly organized and secure Coin Room in my near future, I'd be totally embarrassed to post a pic of how and where I store the various pieces of my relatively significant RCM collection. However recently I did bite the bullet and removed everything from it's original box/case because it grew past 3 plastic storage containers. I've also broken up some sets...until recently I considered that almost sacrilegious. But it's still a bother to view which defeats the purpose of collecting. The lack of convenience and ability to view my collection is why I decided to pursue perfecting only decimal coins and limit any RCM purchases. While the two are closely connected, between history and mass produced artwork they diverge.

This is correct "perk". The silver membership ($1000) is entry level of MC and has to be slightly better than non-MC (2 days and free shipping cover it) and has to have a serious gap to the Gold membership to stimulize people to spend more.
$1000 not small amount of money, but as per RCM prices it is "small purchase".

Well, my point was to compare current situation of the new MC members to their position after July 1st (silver membership), not to compare it to the gold membership.
Right now they have entire week. When new MC gradation will kick in, they will have just two days.
As a matter of fact nobody gets 7 days anymore.

Just a guess on my part, but it seems possible that the Mint changed the ordering periods based on the MC order patterns they have experienced over the past few years. Maybe the majority of MC members place their orders for new releases within the first few days and so much of the week-long period was relatively "quiet" in terms of ordering. So, a full week was unnecessary.

For me, I know that if I'm interested in a coin from a new release, it generally gets ordered within the first two or three days of availability.
