Wow. Almost mint? Not at all. HUGE DEEP scratch to the left of unum, stains on it, LOTS of hairlines from whizzing, really? I am working on getting a refund. There is no way I am returning the coin so if they say I need to return it I will just say never mind. Did not mean to say that. I was just a bit mad. http://www.ebay.com/itm/17178250911...RK:MEBIDX:IT Edited by SilverStackerKid 05/31/2015 12:41 am

Well, with all due respect you're buying sight-unseen, without even images. That's not very smart. And why would you expect a refund without a return? Those are the kind of words that get you put on my Blocked Bidder's list. It's downright dishonest. This isn't how life works.
And the coin is no worse than AU55 aside the scratch.

Yeah it was not very smart but it was the same price as the cull morgans that the guy at the flea market sells. I am in a bad situation with buying morgans.

But you didn't answer the question. Why would you think you would get a refund without returning it? Quote: I am working on getting a refund. There is no way I am returning the coin That's not how it works. You return the item - any item - to get a refund. Otherwise it's theft.

The only major distraction on this coin is the big scratch to the left of U in Unum. two pinhole marks on chin, two pinhole marks below ear. if you don't like what he sent you, all you had to do was to return it within 14 days for a full refund. buying $25 dollar Morgans on e-bay without seeing photos of the coin your biding on is not the best way to obtain them. Don't want to make you feel bad but if you wanted a refund ; don't say you are keeping the coin anyway.

I have a simple set of rules for making ebay purchases: Rule#1 - Only buy if the actual coin pictured is the one you will receive. Rule#2 - Only buy if the photos are clear enough to discern the condition of the coin. Rule#3 - Pay attention to the feedback rating for any seller you intend to purchase from, especially any neg or neutral feedback. Buying on ebay is all about proper due diligence.

Over-reacting for sure. I agree with AU-55 as a grade, pretty much "almost mint" in my book. The scratch really isn't big enough to qualify as damage to a grading service (not that this common coin would be worth having graded). Doesn't look harshly cleaned either, although the diagonal striations between the wreath and the eagle's left (facing) wing might be hairlines from an abrasive rub in that area. Looks like a perfectly good coin for a "silver stacker" who is putting away bullion-related silver coins!

Quote:Buying on ebay is all about proper due diligence. It bears mentioning - only in passing because ebay doesn't enforce their rules any more - that "stock" coin images aren't allowed, and therefore neither is this type of coin auction.

Rule #5 - Only buy from sellers who offer a refund.
Silver Stacker if you feel that the seller's description was not accurate then you should return the coin for a refund. This seller could have included that some coins may be scratched or cleaned.
I have the coin grade at AU Details and you paid fair market value.

just to clear things up I guess I just wanted the seller to know the coin was cleaned and had a scratch on it rather than actually returning it because I want to keep it for silver. Quote: Looks like a perfectly good coin for a "silver stacker" who is putting away bullion-related silver coins! I am using it as that now rather than replacing the one in my 7070. In the light the vertical striations on the obverse and reverse are a lot more obvious. + the coin does not have any cartwheel. And the only reason I was angry because the title says gorgeous, and she is just pretty.
