Picked this one up for $249. I know I could have gotten an MS for $400-ish, but all 23 others are VF or EF (with a couple in the low AU):

I assume this is 1928-P and not 1928-S. This is a very nice coin. I wouldn't complain about the price either. Congrats on completing the set!

Congrats on completing your Peace dollar set. The 1928-P is the only one I lack. I'm waiting for the right example to cross my path. -MV

Thanks. Yeah, it's the 1928 P. I thought I uploaded the reverse. Here it is: Now I need to work on my Walker collection. I love the 10's and 20s era of coinage. the classic Greek look of the St. Gauden's, the Mercury dime, the Peace dollar, the Walker, the Standing Liberty, and the Buffalo nickel are just the height of coin design, IMHO. Thanks. guys. One day I am going to go back and try to do an MS version of this series. This collection (I'll post pictures of all 24 coins soon) is one my 11 year old daughter and I did together, because she loves the "Statue of Liberty" look of the Peace dollar (my personal favorite is the Walker and of course it's from the same era with the same classical design ideas as the other coins of that era). Our budget really was more of a VF/EF range for all 24 coins, though I did go up to low AU for the high relief 1921. Kevin

Nice! I'm working on a Peace set myself. I'm with you, I love that era of coins.

Congrats for completing your set. I would think that for $249.00 you would have got a coin without the harsh hairlines this one has in the fields.

If all of yours look like that, really great set.

<QUOTE> If all of yours look like that, really great set. </QUOTE> Thanks. That's actually one of the nicer coins in this circulated set (that's why I was willing to buy this one even with the hairlines on the cheek and in the fields. many of them look like this as an unavoidable consequence of being circulated). Unfortunately, they are not all as good as this one. As you guys know if you collect Peace dollars, the quality of the strike for the later S coins is weak. My 1934S, while OK-looking, is pretty banged up as far as hairlines are concerned. Then again, a low MS coin is 4 figures for that one, while the VFs are in the $30-$50 range. Go figure.

Awesome accomplishment! I bet that baby has some pretty good heft to it - that's A LOT of silver.
Congratulations!
