If most of the grades I get in the comments of this thread are MS-63 (which I'm hoping for) I would like to buy this coin for the right price and send it in to ICCS so give it the best grade you can.

These 1947`s and 48`s seem to be the ones that when you see in a certain condition you may not see it in that condition again and for that reason this thread is here.

Please and thank you everyone!

Well, good luck. I can't comment on the grade, asyn coins tend to be less desirable than their auction description. There are exceptions (I have some), but with their low-res scans, it's quite a crap shoot.

Not a chance ICCS will grade that ms63.

If they do grade it ms63, I'll pay for your grading of it.

ICCS Net graded to MS60 "Flawless Cameo" . It's not a bad looking coin but I think it will get penalized for the messy fields. It's really going to depend on price.

"BU Flawless Cameo"? It's asyn. When they scrawl "BU flawless cameo rare" on a 2x2, it makes me laugh. Save off the image and zoom in. I bet ICCS gives it AU. Still, it's currently well below VF20 price, so wait and see, if it's what you want at the right price, fine. I wouldn't fantasize that it's MS63 though.

Probably MS-60, but may have a light rub and be a high AU.

Normic: asyn does not grade their coins well at all.. and many of their coins have issues and problems...

You're far better off going to a dealer or a show and seeing the coin in hand than buying ... especially from this seller..!

Looks like a decent MS 60 Cameo piece. Remember that the 1947 ML coins usually have highly polished obverse dies and are generally somewhat baggy. A 1947 ML in true 63 or better is a prize. This coin does not look too bad though for what they usually offer.

I had heard of Cameos before, even Heavy Cameo and Ultra's, but flawless! YOu can't beat that....It;s like turning the volume level up to "11"

I guess it looks like I'm not getting this one, the search continues. I know for a fact that J&M would not have this coin. The thought that wakes me up at night is the fact that all of the sudden it might be 30 years later and I still don't have either the 47 or 48 and by then should be near impossible to find, right now all I need to do is go to Ottawa or Toronto or something, a (Big) coin show, or a (Big) coin store!

What makes you say J&M "would not have this coin"? Their May 21 ICCS coin list shows 7 of them and their PCGS list has another one. Perhaps you mean somebody like J&M would not deal with this particular coin? Good luck in your search though, the 1947ML $1 is my favorite under-appreciated Canadian coin.

Did you try Colonial Acres Coins?
They have some 47ml certified dollars for sale.

Normic there are lots available to purchase in 63 . You are not looking hard enough. The 1947 maple Leaf Dollar is very underrated and worthy of more study. Good Luck!

May 21 ICCS coin list

iv never heard of that and I looked for it on there website and it shows like 5 dollars. Anyway okay, they (Might) have them I mean on there site they say that if the coin has brackets around it that it is not in stock. There 1925 EF40 nickel looks in stock but when I actually went to there store they had absolutely none so I don't know.

I just looked at Colonial acres and they don't have it and are actually out of stock of the 1947 Blunt 7 one.

And I guess we should be calling this dollar a 1948 dollar sense it does have the leaf.

Normic, on the main J&M page are green-colored links in that first paragraph to pdf's with ICCS and PCGS coin lists. https://www.jandm.com/images/jm-ICC...15-05-21.pdf for example. They seem to update it every month or two. They've responded to me by email on specific coins from those lists in the past. Not sure what you were clicking on.

Dave Hunt in BC (coin Mart) had at least 6 1947 ML dollars in various grades...before I stopped counting....If you are planning on finding a "raw" in MS63 that has never been certified before, "caveat emptor'.....There must be a reason why a high value coin hasn't been certified yet, and the reasons are never good ones.
