Hi all! I picked this up last night at my local coin club. Paid a little less than $7.00 USD. How did I do? Thanks!

These are by far my favourite Australian pre decimal coin design hands down and regardless of grade are a welcome addition to any collectors sets regardless of the country they live in

Thanks Trout. I really liked the one you posted on TACF recently. I have one I am picking up from Triggersmob through a trade, but I thought for $7, I couldn't pass this one up!

Yeah, there are heaps in North America,i don't know why, perhaps WW11 Soldiers hoarded them when in Oz. because they are a great looking Coin. Lady I met in the early days of ebay in Oz. has a Antique store in California and its a regular thing for people to bring the 27 Florin in thinking its a valuable Coin, she sells them to me for US$10 but to be honest with the A$ under 80c US its getting to be a no win situation except for the occassional exceptional coin.

trout, look at the word AUSTRAILIA on the 1954 you posted....under the R...there is almost like a second R down there. is that some kind of large spread localised DDR? I think it derseves looking in to further.
Feel free to call me Will.
