Found a mint condition "Library of Coins" Franklin half Album and just really though it was cool. Printed in 1959!

Moved my small Franklin collection into the book from my 2x2 page I was using. Only at 6/35 right now, but seeing them in this cool album makes me want to buy some more coins soon!

tkbslc,

That's a beautiful Franklin half dollar set in a nice, vintage album. I wonder if the albums back then were made acid-free.

Are you sure that was really printed in 1959? If it did they predicted the death of kennedy in advance since it would be reasonable to expect franklins to continue past 1963. If it they expected 25 years it would go to 1972.

Maybe that was the first year they made the album and yours was printed similarly but post 1964 with the correct holes. Since most of the content and design was the same they could keep using the old copyright five years down the line.

Still super cool just my theory :)

That's a nice Library of Coins album. I've got my #3 set in one just like it.

As already mentioned, the print date for this iteration is sometime after '63 as the mintage quantities are in print. There is an earlier version that was printed in '62 or early '63 (sometime prior to Kennedy's death or at least the decision to change the half dollar)I posted some pictures of my #2 set here https://goccf.com/t/181476&whichpag...ranklin,sets

Yeah, I agree with bertsengrad. I think you are confusing copywrite date with print date. It's impossible for that book to have been printed in 1959 since they knew the last year of mintage and the mintage numbers.

I like Dansco albums ....

But I also like "Library of coins" albums.

If I saw one as nice as the one you posted, I would buy
it, no question. Well as long as it was priced right.

I am sure it will look really great, once you get it filled.

Looks good so far

Thanks for the comments! It's kind of fun when the album seems as collectible as the coins in it... :)

OR could have been done by one of those fortune telling people. Hired by that company for just that reason.
