Do you think that this Cheerios dollar is worth the gamble? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-P-SAC-...301653918959? The seller doesn't really claim that it has the detailed tail feathers on the reverse. It's not certified and could easily be taken out of the packaging for verification. But, it does seem to have the die polishing marker on the obverse. http://www.smalldollars.com/dollar/page20c.htmlIf I had a coin that valuable, I would for sure get it certified to remove all doubt and increase the final selling price. So, I'm very hesitant. What do you think?

In my opinion and from what I have seen of sales on ebay, I would not gamble that much money on the rare chance that it be a rare coin. Seller doesn't even post pictures of the reverse at all... doesn't seem legit to me but that is my opinion.

He can't post pictures of the reverse, it's still in the package.

I would based on the obverse die polish marker and submit it to PCGS for certification and attribution.

That tells me that many are confident that it's the pattern, but I'm not 100%. I'd pay more than that if I knew for sure, but I just can't take that big of a gamble. Sure wish the buyer could let us know how it turns out.

No way ever I would spend that kind of money without seeing those tail feathers! Thats the only 100% way to verify I dont think taking it out of package is gonna hurt it- if hes trying to show its legit by still being in package I think showing the tail feathers is way more legit

Quote: If I had a coin that valuable, I would for sure get it certified to remove all doubt and increase the final selling price. So, I'm very hesitant. What do you think? No more than gambling on sending in your MOD sets in unopened to a TPG without looking at them. If you know you can sell them raw for $105 a set or you spend at least $50 getting them slabbed and they come back with hazy coins and only grade at MS68 and only sell for $100 you just lost $55. This coin has the die marker. However without seeing the reverse you can't guarantee the overall grade. And by some dumb luck twist it might not be the FS-901 variety. The coin sold for $4800. Say it had only sold for $3000. That is still good money. What if the coin only grades MS64 or MS65 when all of the rest that have sold for big money are MS66 or MS67. The seller sells it for $5K if he is lucky. Say he opens it up to check for the variety and it doesn't have it. Now he has a plain old 2000P Sac. He just left $3000 or $4800 or whatever on the table. How does that old saying go? A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.
