Not a big Morgan guy, let alone raw, but liked the looks of this one. Seller pics. Thoughts on grade.

The coin has a nice strike for a 1921 S. It is hard to tell exact grade from photo as focus is not good. The coin is from AU 58 to MS62 as the marks on the cheek could be circulation rub or bag marks.

Looks like some kind of AU. Not sure from pics.

With the 1921-S, as a practical matter, from AU50 to MS62, the jump up in value is not enormous, albeit better than for the Philly of that year. So it's really about the purchase price point. I see the auction's ended already, so my evaluation on this particular one won't be of any use to you, but my impression is AU, and at $27.57 shipped, it went in sort of the average range, I'd say.

It looks like it could be MS from the seller's photos. Better pictures are needed to confirm.

Lousy photos, it could be MS but I'm leaning towards AU.

I believe you'll find the seller's description of "Choice BU" to be reasonably accurate. The images are too small for much detail but they don't fail at showing the abundant luster. Doesn't look badly-struck for a 1921-S but that's not necessarily a recommendation.

Thanks all. Yeah, I've bought from this seller before, and he sells nice original coins. I appreciate the feedback, and no one has mentioned the dreaded "details" word, so I cleared one hurdle The photos aren't the best, but mine usually make the coin look worse I was going to ask about Vams, but it looks likes there are about 180 possibilities or so. yikes.

The "interesting" 1921-S VAMs (aside the Thornheads, and this ain't one of those) will usually involve heavy die polishing more dense than normally seen on a Morgan. If you note that in-hand somewhere, see if you can get it depicted and post it so we can have some fun.

It looks like it could be MS-62.
