Gday from Australia.
I have a 1805 Half Cent, large 5 with stems.Am just wondering if there is a way of seeing if its real or fake. The weight and diameter seem ok to US coin book specs.
It looks like new on the back with nice patina, colour.
Thanks.

the best bet is to go out to sites like heritage PCGS and in GC and check their photo archives. it's not impossible but it does seem unlikely to be genuine.

you can also post the question and the classic coins section but be sure and include decent full coin photos - front & back...

Hi Geoff and to CCF!

Best thing to do is post images of both sides in the US Classic Cons Grading forum. There are many very helpful people there who will give you an honest and fair assessment of your coin and will certainly be able to tell you whether it's a fake or not.

If you are trying to identify a coin, post it to this section. If you are fairly confident of the type, please post it to the correct section like is listed above.
