received this from my father today - he is an avid coin collector and error collector. I thought I would share with you all.

"The "big one" - the 1939 P DDR with doubled monticello. This is the second one I've found in close to 2,000,000 nickels"

I have probably searched more than him, but he keeps track of them and he also checks every single one for doubled dies.

As to worth? I have no idea. It seems to be very strong doubling. Someone w more experience will know.

I am expecting that he will keep it.

Nice find.

I have found 2 but not as nice as yours.

As with any error coin that shows up in a price guide or the CherryPickers Guide if that denomination is roll hunted ebay will be flooded with them and supply will outstrip demand and debase the "guide" prices.

Here's mine.

Yotie- he does both. Depends on his mood. He has been doing coins for probably 40 years - likely linger

He has found some awesome error coins over the years
