Today at a local coin show I finally picked up the remaining Peace dollar I needed to complete my set. I picked up a 1928-P today. Thanks to all who offered instructions and insight. I like the one I selected.. While not BU I think it's a solid XF and I'm quite happy with it. Pictures below along with my other pickups of the day. Had a great time with my Father, it was a great day all along.. Thanks for looking... 1928-P Peace Dollar 1811 Capped Bust Half Dollar 1913-P Type 1 Buffalo Nickel 1913-P Type 2 Buffalo Nickel

Thanks.. My dad and I go to, or at least try to go to, three of these a year. He's 83 now and who knows how many more we'll get. He got me started in this hobby and it's always a great time when he and I go to one of these shows. He picked up a 1883-O Morgan MS-64ish.. and also a 1856-O Seated Liberty half dollar. It was fun to see him get excited about two coins he wanted to add to his collection.

for those interested I believe the 28-P Peace dollar is a VAM 3 (R is doubled and there is the polishing line hair strands on the obverse. The Capped Bust half dollar I believe is O-112 R4. It hits those markers very well...

Aces, thanks for the link, it was extremely helpful. After seeing those pictures I'd have to agree. The show was in Tinley Park Illinois. This show is the Greater Chicago Coin & Currency Show. It's run in February and June and then the Illinois Numismatic Association runs another at the same location in September. What did you find in Allentown? Hope you had a great time there and would love to see anything you picked up!

I can't take pics right now, the camera batteries are dead. I picked up 3 Bust halves and made a "payment" on an 1878CC Morgan I put on lay away with one of my regular dealers before the show. (didn't want that one to get away).

Great coins, especially the '28 Peace dollar. I finished my Peace dollar set not that long ago, and the 1928 was the last one for me too. It's a great feeling to complete a set. Glad you had a good experience with your dad. Your photos are outstanding, by the way. Good job.
