My wife had been hinting for a few weeks that I was really going to like Fathers Day this year.

This past Saturday morning I had a particularly long "honey do" list that oddly needed to be done by noon, but not leave before 10 for some unknown reason. Not looking for a beef I complied like any good husband would.

Upon returning home her car wasn't in the driveway and my son was acting weird. "I need to show you something in the back yard" he said. Knowing something was up but playing along I went into the woods with him and soon hear a car pull into the driveway. "Wait here a minute" he says running back to the house. Lots of giggling is heard in the sunroom followed by a loud "come in dad" accompanied by laughter.

"Meet Cooper" they all yell. My new 8 week old black Lab

Having already raised 2 other puppies for my crew I was stunned and not immediately 100% happy and they could tell. She then says "oh you ruin everything", leaves the room and returns with a box "here. Happy fathers day ...again...I went on your stupid wish list at Wizard Coins. Are you happy now?"

In the box were 4 brand spanking new Dansco's!!

Indian & Lincoln Cents and Barber & Mercury dimes!

I'll be posting them in the classic coin forums as I fill them out.

Post Script: To save my marriage I did spend the last 2 nights sleeping in the family room with my son and the dog to get him acclimated so I am not the terrible monster curmudgeon my wife implied I was.

It was a good fathers day!

Nice! I used to have a runt yellow lab that saved my step mom from drowning in a lake at 8 months old. They are VERY good family dogs.

I'm a bachelor so no gift for me but my dad likes shotguns and hates summer Flies in the house so I got him the "Bug-A-Salt" fly killing shotgun that uses table salt to blast em... His 61st birthday was last week and I got him a 1oz AGE for that one

Nice gifts, beautiful puppy. I cannot complain....ended up with a Brazilian hammock and an outdoor bluetooth speaker to annoy the neighbors!

Just a regular hammock, you know, the kind you hang between two trees and inevitably flip upside down and fall out of when you try to lie on it.

Au contraire! No spreader bar like those lousy American hammocks....this one is very difficult to flip.

Nice gifts for certain. My wife hates my hobby or coin collecting, and would never contribute a wooden nickel, so consider yourself very blessed.
Rest in Peace
