If you haven't read it here is a link to my Fathers day Dansco story.

https://goccf.com/t/233247

Today I show off my modest yet complete Mercury dime set. Lots of opportunity to upgrade coins here but I'm more of a hole filler at this point in my collecting life so Mercs will be take a backseat for many years unless I can get a good deal on the two 42/41 over dates.

Nice set! You had all of the coins and no dansco? I had none of the coins and 2 danscos (now they are in progress). 1 day I'll have it complete like that.

I should point out that people don't need to scrutinize the 1919. Neither this nor any of my 7 other lower grade examples are the newly found doubled die variety.

Nice going. Do you have the 42/41, 42D/41 and the Micro S 45? Not sure but does that Dansco have a lot of empty slots at the end like so many of their other Albums.

I do have the 45 Micro, and I'm pretty sure I don't have any 42/41 in my 3 rolls of 1942's hoard. Those have been searched by me many times and that over date is so obvious even in G condition that I'm sure I would have seen it. There is a chance I have a 42D/41 but I'm not rushing to get a microscope to find out anytime soon as that over date is much less dramatic.

Very nice gifts indeed! I could see my wife bringing home a dozen dogs, before she'd even contribute a wooden nickel towards my coin collecting hobby, so consider yourself blessed that you have a willing partner. She hates my coin collecting, especially when it cost money. Does anyone else suffer from this?

Just ask her if she would rather you spend the money down at the bar with your girlfriend. LOL

Half I've tried that argument, along with golfing, fishing, and travel. I've even tried the investment side of it.

There is something really cool about a complete collection even if the coins are only in Good condition. The point somebody had the desire and drive to complete the collection even if it cost them time and money beyond the current absolute value of the coins. I just started on the LSQ collection and that is going to cost me I am sure. Just getting the Mercury dimes or LSQ's with decent dates in the early years is no small feat. I never saw old Mercury dimes when I was a kid with good dates. This was when you could find them in the wild so to speak.

Applause sign is "ON".

My wife is supportive of my hobbies, she know it will belong to our kids inheritance.
