Grade: VG-8 details, rim damage.
Just my one (Morgan) dollar -- all Morgans are worth more than scrap at the moment.
Strangely enough, there are far more AU and MS Morgans around than circulated examples, and some collectors even actively pursue the circulated grades just to stand out / be different from the slab boxes full of
TPG MS coins and GSA CC dollars.
I wouldn't scrap a Morgan even if I had 10 in better grades, just because, but there are plenty of bullion dealers out there who will buy them by the bagful for gleeful conversion into, at most, $12.20 per coin (at 6/27 retail spot price.) Never mind they could get $15 or $20 or even more on an auction site for the same coin; the profit's not an issue, the convertibility is, and bullion bars or even
ASE's are easier to move than
Morgan dollars when it comes to investors who play the precious metals game.
Just my opinion, so don't be too offended if you had already planned to scrap the coins.
