Just purchased a nice slabbed Morgan dollar and need some opinions. I don't have it in hand as I just purchased it. Thanks!

The seller's pictures are lousy; definitely NOT detailed as stated. Plus PL coins are hard to image correctly; need axial lighting to do a good job. Strike is a bit weak; not surprising for an "O" Mint coin. Beyond that hard to say.

I have bought coins like this, a little cheaper. But they were not Slabbed or a top 100 VAM. In my experience, it is vary hard to take pictures of a PL coin, even harder when the coin is slabbed. So I think there is a good chance this coin will look better in hand, than in the photos. I am not saying it is a bad looking coin ... just will be better in hand. Last point, are you a variety/VAM collector? Collectors that like Variety or VAM collecting do not mind paying a little extra for coins that fit into their type of collecting. If that is the case for you, then I think the price was fair. If I was just wanting that date and mint coin to fill a hole in my collection, then I could find the same grade cheaper.

The coin looks like a strong MS 63. From the sellers photos can not tell the prooflike qualities as the photos do not show the strength of field mirrors or contrast between the devices and field. Congratulations on picking up your first graded VAM.

The "detailed pictures" and "under graded" hyperbole aside, the criterion that legitimate grading services like ANACS employ for certifying a coin as PL is pretty straightforward and strict, so I imagine you're going to be pleased with this specimen once you have it in hand.

You will be pleased, even though the seller's photos suck.
