Got up early this morning and took the family out to breakfast at IHOP and then to a large weekly flea market/outdoor antique market up in northern Mass. One guy had a bunch of overpriced Morgan dollars (common dates in poor to average condition for $35 each), but another guy from Canada had a bunch of Kennedy and Franklin half dollars for around $7.50 each. The Kennedy halves were nicer grade, but I decided to buy all 21 Franklin halves from him for $155.

All of the coins are pretty well circulated, but the pile included 6 from 1963, 4 from 1962, 1 from 1958, 1 from 1957, 6 from 1954, 1 from 1953 and 2 from 1952. Most probably aren't worth much above melt, but I'm thinking there might be some numismatic value to the ones from 1952-54.

Errrr, no. No, I'm not. Sadly, I don't have nearly as much money as he does, but at least I'm younger...

Plus, I'm sure he gets paid at least $10,000 per episode (perhaps much more).

Hard to believe 3 or 4 years ago 21 Franklins would cost around $350.00
Nice score

I know! And the problem is, I bought a bunch at that price. I used to say that if the price of silver ever dropped back down I would back up the truck and fill up, but I ended up spending so much when prices were high that I actually got burned out and couldn't bear to buy anything at lower prices. It's just recently, in the last few months, that I've started making some minor purchases again. This time around, however, I'm buying mostly numismatic silver instead of silver bars and bullion. I was a coin collector before I got bit by the gold and silver bug, so I just prefer to hold some history in my hands instead of just plain metal.
