Bought it about 4 months ago from a coin shop, with the bicentennial coins and the susan b anthony. Not in perfect shape but not bad either. I have spent the time since trying to come up with the best plan for it. I think I have come up with something that works for me and will make it a family keepsake.
I plan to match up each coin with a birth/anniversary/ important date in the family tree. Some dates are tough to match up but am still formulating a plan. For example if I take the in laws anniversary and switch it to year they met I fill the 1964 Kennedy hole.
I have got through the late 1800's and have a cousin who is big in genealogy and hopefully will get me the dates I need to fill this baby up!

That is an absolutely brilliant idea. I've put mint sets together of our families, back to 1810. My favorite is the birth date of my paternal grandfather in 1897 as I was able to put an NGC set in MS 63 64 65 with all 4 gold and all 3 Barbers. Relating personal and family history within your collection makes it so much more important and enjoyable. Jeez...you might have given me a reason to find my own 7070.

Well here is the first one, hardly a rare coin but a very significant one to me, my wife's birth year!

Wow that is a great idea! Good luck to you! May be too late for me since I already have half the coins (some I would not want to take the time/money to update/upgrade) but maybe I can find relevancy in the other dates I need!

What an amazing idea! You've made me want to re-build my 7070 now to accommodate birth years from my family tree. Or maybe I should just start a second one ...
