I'm glad I didn't ask any friends and neighbors to order for me. With the website and payment issues, it's bad enough that my daughter is upset with me.

My father got his to go through at 12:12. He had it in the cart at 12:00!

Man glad most everyone on here got theirs it was ridiculous. Wife was on at noon and even before 12:04 we couldn't get our orders in. Not sure when mine went through before they sold out.

In two weeks I'll be backing the truck up for the coin and currency set, so it wont matter! Ha ha!

That statement from the mint is a bunch of poop. Problems were immediate at high noon. My credit card information didn't populate for about five seconds and I had to hit F5 once after I got a page not found message. I was the first to post here that I got my two sets, so it seems like I was lucky in that I had the least amount of trouble. Why would they release a statement that everyone knows doesn't convey the full extent of the problems? All it does is ruin credibility.

I am not pointing fingers or saying anyone was explicitly wrong, especially when personal perception is a factor, but there is a lot of frustration being aired in this thread. Some of it is directed at each other, which should be avoided. Just a friendly reminder to play nice.  |

Like everyone else, I have two identical charges on my CC in "pending" status. I expect one to be canceled (or it will fall off naturally after a day or two if the charge isn't completed).
Definitely a much poorer experience today.

Here's what I think happened. The mint probably has two commerce servers, a primary and a backup. When the primary freaked out, the backup started processing CC orders. Then the primary came back on line and duplicated the orders. Looks like the mint has a big old mess to clean up. When I called, they said one must be a pre-auth, but my CC company disagreed. Unless they fix it themselves, I'm not messing with it until I get a ship confirmation. The last thing I want is for my CC to cancel one charge and make me lose my order.

I called the mint and was told that even though it appeared that my first order didn't go through because the confirmation page didn't load, the order did go through. So when I finally did get an order in and the confirmation page appeared, it was a second order. I was told the second pending charge would drop off in 3-5 days. He also assured me that I do have an order being processed and it will be shipped within 2 days. |

My card issuer is super easy and takes care of problems at no cost to me, not matter how fast or slow I react. Better to let this play out and get your sets before rocking any boats. Of course, what would be really cool is if they did charge us twice and everyone who was charged twice would automatically receive the appropriate number of Kennedy C&C sets!  |

Just curious, I know the mintage for this set is 17K and they changed the Kennedy to 50K. But, is there any news on the mintage for the Johnson set in October?

If they raise the mintage of the Johnson set, that would be a big mistake. People may want the Kennedy just because it's Kennedy, but that doesn't apply to Johnson.
