A latest pickup. I really like this obverse design - it was used for a few coins of the time

Nice coins! I love NZ coins. Do you have a 1949 Crown? What other coins used the crouched Maori warrior?

No other coins used it. The "obverse", on coins from monarchies, is always the portrait side.

I'm embarrassed to say I don't actually have a camera set-up .

The camera I use is an old hp photosmart 620 2.1MP. All I do is put the coin on a piece of off white paper, rest my hand on a desk lamp and snap away :)

The crouching warrior was used on all NZ One Shilling coins from 1933 - 1965, but coins were not minted for every year.

Years One Shilling not minted are: 1936; 1938; 1939; 1949; 1954.
