Does anybody know the real inside reason why the mint decided to nix '06 through '28?

That's a pretty long gap.

There's quite a bit of information on Half Dimes at this link

http://www.ngccoin.com/coin-explore...mes-pscid-26

Quoting a small blip from that page about stopping production of the Half Dime after 1805:

Quote:
Though the Half Dime denomination was important in commerce as a convenient way to make change, the Mint's ability to make enough of these coins was limited. Production of the Draped Bust/Heraldic Eagle Half Dimes ceased in 1805. The late Walter Breen, a renowned numismatic scholar, theorized that banks may have preferred the more readily available Mexican half-real coin, worth one-sixteenth of a dollar, which circulated side by side with U.S. federal coins and, like them, had legal-tender status

I was still having computer problems so I got some outside support.
Not cheap but the guys do a good job.

Turns out it was not a network problem
Nor was it a computer problem (virus, malware, etc.)
ANYWAY the solution to my problem was upgrading from Google to Google Chrome.

Now I have to get a few ducats (er, Half Dimes) in order.
I'll do a catch-up tomorrow.
