Just curious any everyones thoughts of 11 x 14 coin board for eisenhower. like the vintage ones of the 1930's. I'm considering having a custom one made. Should I make it to hold all 32 Ikes plus the three ike presidentials or just the P and D.

I like the complete set with proofs included but it might be a board that I mass produce and not sure what collectors would prefer. I definitely like the idea in including the presidential's dollars with the Ikes and maybe add two slots for commemoratives.

I suspect many would be hesitant to put proof coins in a coin board.
My vote is for a 21 coin board (includes silver) or a 16 coin board (no silver).

Thanks Jbuck, I guess most people probably won't want to take there proofs out of there capsules or albums. Would you say the same with the commemoratives, I was thinking specifically about the 1990 ike. On ebay it goes for around 25.

Jbuck, would that be a 23 coin board with silver not a 21?

There are 32 in the standard set (34 if you count three 1972 varieties). There are 11 Proof coins: 71-S 40%, 72-S 40%, 73-S, 73-S 40%, 74-S, 74-S 40%, 76-S V1, 76-S V2, 76-S 40%, 77-S, and 78-S. 16 coin board: 71, 71-D, 72, 72-D, 73, 73-D, 74, 74-D, 76 V1, 76 V2, 76-D V1, 76-D V2, 77, 77-D, 78, and 78-D. Plus five silver: 71-S 40%, 72-S 40%, 73-S 40%, 74-S 40%, and 76-S 40%. Again, 21 will be 23 only if you add the two additional 1972 Varieties (three total). Adding the 1990 Commemorative to the set (the uncirculated) would make is 22 coins. Adding the 2015 Presidential dollars would give you two more, I suppose that is what you meant by 23?

lol no thats not what I was thinking but I figured out my error. I was using the dansco album as a guide and it doesn't say 76s v1 and 76s v2 are proof coins so I was counted them in my number. Shows you how familiar I am with Ikes.
Thanks for the last post jbuck, it simplified it for me.

Here's another idea (which I stole from someone else on this board): in my Eisenhower Dansco, the 4 empty slots are filled with an UNC and Proof Eisenhower commemorative dollar (1990) and an UNC and Proof 5-Star General commemorative dollar featuring Eisenhower. If you're making slots for the golden Presidential dollars, I think these coins should be included too.

specksnyder, You read my mind, those are the two commemoratives I had in mind for it, whats the 5 star general commemorative sell for typically? Since the Ikes is such a short series, I thought it would be cool adding the commemoratives and presidentials.

This is the design I came up with so far, a few minor adjustments and I think I have it.

Impressive. Thank you for labeling the 1976 as V1/V2 instead of T1/T2.

Looks good. My concern is that you use a heavy enough cardstock to support the weight of all those coins. I would prefer to see the commemorative spaces labeled, i.e., "1990 Eisenhower". And I'm sure you probably already noticed, but I see a typo for the 1976-V1.
