Certainly amazing error coins..

...but could someone here better explain the diamond pattern across that 82 error constitution dollar..?

Is this the norm for planchets of that year..?

I just thought that all would be smooth blanks before the striking..

That is pictures of two different coins. The waffle is on a coin struck by reverse of a quarter.

The checkered planchet is struck with a 25 cent die, probably from a mint token, and the 10 cent piece was a trial strikes of the RCM on multiply steel planchets that some how got out of the mint, cool errors from one of the big error collectors. The dollar is a second strike
