Last one for tonight. Not weird die states, but weird final S in "STATES" on the reverse. I did not see this until I had already bid on and won this coin. But maybe it's not as bad as I think it is. I have no idea what "it" is. It ooked like an ex-jewelry solder blob but this coin is in a legit PCGS holder, problem-free, and not attributed, and I trust the seller implicitly. **Most of you nailed this one, PCGS VF-35** Member ANA - EAC - TNA - SSDC - CCT #890 "Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done." -- Louis D. I never noticed until now how strange the bust looks, LOL.. Guess I'm not used to seeing bust Half Dimes with that much detail. VF-30?

Grade VF-30. The S looks like a Die Cud or crack - the die is defective around the insides of the S allowing metal to flow out when it was struck. What it looks like to me at least.

No need to worry about the weird S of States, as it is one of the pick up points one can use to determine the variety. 1833 Half Dime had 3 obverses: http://www.everythinghalfdimes.com/...se-dies.htmlEliminate Obverse 1 since the 8 and 3 aren't widely spaced Eliminate Obverse 2 since star 6 isn't strongly repunched That leaves Obverse 3 as the only match. There were 3 reverses for 1833: http://www.everythinghalfdimes.com/...rriages.htmlEliminate Reverse Y since the last S of States isn't filled Eliminate Reverse X since the last S of States isn't filled That leaves Reverse P as the answer This Half Dime is LM-10 (Obverse 3, Reverse P)

Awesome attribution work! It's not attributed on the holder nor in the seller listing.

VF30 to me, nice example, way better than a lot of the VF20's I see. Could even go VF35.

VF-35. It is reverse "P" as noted above. Looks just as it it supposed to with the s "filled". Nice coin.
