As everyone else has said, great presentation of information and pictures. Ever thought about writing a short book on RPM and double die identification and collecting?

There are so many out there already. I'd rather help collectors to know what to look for and how to identify. Best on the forums. When was the last time you read a book. I got a new phone, I've not read the booklet that came with it. I still can't use it, probably because I'm a hands on type of guy rather than a book reader. I have made a few videos for use on DVD and also on youtube. (check out my signature box below for a link to watch them)

Nicely done Coop! Those were some tricky examples you posted. This is why circulation coins can be soooooo difficult. It can be a test of patience for sure.

coop this is a great post, I just discovered it a few days ago and that was how I could find my first DDR the 1939 LWC. These side by sides are just want us beginners need and it is great that you were able to put this together so nicely with a variety of coins and both obverse and reverse. thanks so much (and lucky for me that I found it)

Thanks once again for a great lesson and the hard work you obviously put behind this project for all of us to learn from. I admit I am slow on one of these though. You posted: Quote: The side by side showed why it is listed as a doubled die. Can you see the difference? Note the black lines on the right side of the images. So what appeared as machine damage, was really hub doubling. It all fit into place with the side by sides. You asked, Quote: Can you see the difference? My eye is not as educated or experienced as yours. What "difference" on the coins are the lines showing me that let me know this is definitely hub doubling? Is it that the lines trying to show me the devices are the same thickness (hence not MD)?

Great info COOP. You are like the modern day Johnny Appleseed of the Coin Community. Question? Other than working on things related to coins 48 hours a day what else do you do. Retired? If not what profession. In any event, we here are so very fortunate to have you as our sounding board and teacher.

Well, part of coops post on July 26 was something I hadn't expected but thought it was great.
Coop wrote: "playing guitar and singing. Eventually I sang in public. (took me three months to learn) I sang for the first time in public in 1964 when I was 13" Sorry still haven't figured out the Quote thing. I think a teacher as well, and if he wan't he should have been. Look at all the time and effort he puts into his responses, he has great patience and dedication.
