If someone would grab pics really quick, that'd be great.

Date is completely wrong and relief is too high.

Not much more to say, the guy definitely knows it's not authentic.

It also surprises me how some people are willing to fork over $300+ on a coin that isn't authenticated, nor is it guaranteed authentic yet alone authentic in itself.

I have had second thoughts of bidding on coins under the $5 range on ebay myself..

All the letters on obverse are distorted as well as the misplaced MM.

I admit that I am bad at this fake detection thing. For now anyway, the coins I buy raw--not from a third party grading service--are low grade and/or common coins. I am still learning.

What is it about this coin that screams "fake"? I checked the 1909S VDB fake check post at http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coin-Fake-D...93333/g.html . The mintmark looks too big to me, but is the placement consistent with third picture under "mint mark positions"? I can't tell for sure from that "fake detection" post that the cited cent is fake. Then again, if one were to fake a 1909S VDB on ebay, one might check the ebay fake spotter post to ensure that none of the fake "tells" from that post are present.

Help me along the learning curve please. Thanks

Does ANYONE even SEE the seam on the edge? This is a cast counterfeit, and both the shape of the rims and the mintmark are completely wrong.

There's some bidiots that don't see it.

Someone needs to ping Bobby so he can get it nuked.

Well, Typecoin, if I'm agreeing this is a fake it won't be nearly so much fun. But you are right...again...
