For now anyway, the coins I buy raw--not from a third party grading service--are low grade and/or common coins. I am still learning. What is it about this coin that screams "fake"? I checked the 1909S VDB fake check post at http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coin-Fake-D...93333/g.html . The mintmark looks too big to me, but is the placement consistent with third picture under "mint mark positions"? I can't tell for sure from that "fake detection" post that the cited cent is fake. Then again, if one were to fake a 1909S VDB on ebay, one might check the ebay fake spotter post to ensure that none of the fake "tells" from that post are present.
