This coin was given to me by my Great Grandmother when I was a teenager, God rest her soul (She lived to be 104 !) One of the first coins in my then new collection and by far the oldest. Along with a 1916 Mercury dime, very worn...I looked for hours for that D but no luck there. Two coins that will always have a special place in my collection. Anyway...I have never put a grade on this one and would like opinions , I only have one thus far so I am not accustomed to grading them.

I'd grade this F-12.

The reverse scratches are unfortunate, but show this coin did its part for commerce in America.

Yeah probably a split grade with the obverse F-12 and the reverse VG-8.

Nice Seated quarter. Makes you wonder were it been!

Thanks for sharing it.

Great story, infinteinterest! I agree with blcoinut. F15. Finding Seated Liberty quarters in decent condition has gotten more difficult in the recent years. I'm sure you will always enjoy having this.

I will have to call this one VG-10/G-8 O/R. I am learning about these right now as I fill the holes in my type set.

Thanks,

Jim
