Can't really tell - anyway to get a closer shot of the right side feathers? That is one of the best diagnostic spots on the VAM9, if this is one, it's one of the highest grades I've ever seen. I've had AU53, AU55 and several VF/EF VAM9's

Looks to ms64-65, it's listed buy it now obo 350. What do you think it's worth? I say about 150-200 unless it's a 65 then 350 isn't a bad deal. Or are my price assumptions wrong?

I like 14.1a for this coin. 14.1 is the closest "look" to the VAM-9 Comma Feather and it's certainly understandable how one could confuse them. The odd locations of the low clash in the neck vee, and the crack from the center of the third right star, confirm 14.1 instead of 9 and I think the neck clash strong enough that the clashed "n" characteristic of 14.1a should be present. You'll have to confirm it.
These are pretty darn scarce in 65, and I believe there's one 66 (also a 14.1a). If this one makes a 64 slab, it'll justify the listed asking price although that's close to full retail and you'll be borderline with the cost of slabbing and attribution. I won't stake my rep on it based on small images, but I don't think 64 is difficult for this one. I'd certainly be looking long and hard at it.

SuperDave is correct, the 14.1A is close but no VAM9. If it were a VAM9 it would be worth every penny of the asking price. I too have bought a few like this early on in my VAM collecting only to get home and find out it wasn't the VAM9 but twice I did score the VAM9 in AU. The little coma feather is similar, but once you've seen it you won't mistake the 14.1 for a 9.
