An easy option for limited power during an outage is a car battery jump starter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Battery-Jum...151689413146Most of them now have a USB plug in it along with the jumper cables, air compressor, and an emergency light. You just have to keep it charged for when you need it.

Hi John - extended periods without power can really wear on a person. I happen to be on the smallest grid in town; literally the last house on the grid. Last one to be restored when the storms take their tolls.

4 days without power is quite some time. Glad you had a generator to save your food. Forget the internet, obviously in that situation there are other pressing needs.
