On Aug 3, ebayer wholesalecoins99 aka earlyuscoins99 sold his 1793 cent to himself via shill bidders i***t(12) and s***i(57) for $4000:

Today, Aug 6, he again sold this same coin to himself via his shill s***i(57) for $2855:

about 20 minutes after the sale of this coin, to himself, he relisted on ebay, yet again:

PS: this is only one of several coins he has done this with. Apparently, ebay is no longer interested in enforcing their own rules as long as there is a profit in it for them

ebay has a veiled interest in allowing this stuff to happen.

Every time the coin "sells" to his shill he ends up canceling the sale and recovers his final value fees.

The Seller relists the coin so it continues to be exposed to the buyers. Eventually, some sucker buyer will get all excited and "win" the coin. ebay will then finally get to collect their FVF.

If ebay were to sanction the Seller they would be shooting themselves in the foot. They know they will eventually get their final value fee once the coin sells to a legitimate Buyer.

That's why they allow this stuff to happen. It's all about the money.

Interesting. I saw that coin on a one day auction yesterday, and then saw it relisted as a BIN for much higher than it sold for earlier. Guess the seller is just tired of selling to himself for less than he really wants, so he listed as a BIN.

And that is why ebay decided to "protect" the bidders identities to prevent them from "being solicited from unscrupulous offers for the same item at a lower price with no buyer protection (and read between the lines no fees paid to ebay)"

Um,yeah alright then (that is their actual stance)

Thanks for the heads up. If ebay wants to allow it, at least I can block this unethical joke.

Nothing I see in ebay surprises anymore.

A little while ago I noticed that somebody had auctioned one of MY coins. They apparently downloaded the pictures I had posted in a thread and used it to sell my coin in ebay. I guess the buyer is still waiting for it to show up...
