I'm thinking this looks AU-53. Definitely "weak D" variety. Without having the coin in-hand, and judging just from these photos, it seems to have the various diagnostic points to ensure it being an authentic coin. Photographs of the coin "straight-on" instead of at an angle would be better, because the entire surface would be in focus.

The only concern I have are the parallel scratches to the right of the eagle's wing below TRUST. They make me wonder if the reverse may have been cleaned.

@ Aahz, better shot of the reverse, and less light.

It looks cleaned with AU Details. Still a valuable coin.

If you, the common Joe, send it in you'll get AU50 details scratched.

If one of the big auction houses does the submission it would probably get AU 53/55 in a problem free holder.

Thanks, RK, but the new photo really didn't help much with grading. However, it *DID* help confirm some of the diagnostics. Definitely genuine.

Still have it at AU-53 details, though.
Rest in Peace

Definitely in the AU 50-53 range, but it would have details. I'm certain from these photos that it is the real deal weak D as all the diagnostics are correct across the board.

AU53 although a TPG might ding it for the reverse and give it a details rating

I don't think the scratch on the back is a big deal - Gold is a very soft metal and any number of things may have caused that. I'll go with AU-53.

I don't see a big enough scratch to get details.

And I don't see enough detail to get to AU. Look at those lower feathers on the obverse!

Thanks for all your opinions!

The coin is off to ANACS today on a 15 day turnaround.

I will post back here when the coin is in hand.
