That is only one in every 1000 coins though and half of them are pretty badly damaged......

I've got quite a few 66 on hand, I'll see if I can find a London one for you. No promises though, I'm not 100% sure what to look for but I'll research it first. If I find one. it's yours.

Nancyc, can I get a Wavvy off you? :) PLEASE! :) Zaggy, Are you asking me for my one & only wavy ? Fat chance! It was a 2006 Chrissy present. I've never been lucky enough to find one. I did have a spare 1972 5¢, but I sent it to a collector in WA a few weeks ago to fill a gap in his collection. It was a pretty beat up coin, but any 1972 5¢ is better than none at all. I think you may have misunderstood my previous post I will check my 1966 5¢ and if I find a London one, I'll send it to gx. If I happen to find a heap of them, which I think is most unlikely, I'll let you know.

Ok, I checked my 1966 5¢ pieces. Out of 21, 5 appear to be London Mint. I am going to keep one, so apart from the one I promised gxseries, there are 3 others which I'll give away.
Let me know if you want one, if there are more than 3 of you wanting one, I'll put names in a hat & draw 3, that way everyone will stand an equal chance. I'll give it a week, then do the lucky draw.
I'll keep all 1966 5¢ that I come across from now on, so there might be more freebies further doawn the track.

Here is the breakdown of the $100 worth of 5c pieces I went through the other day.
1966 21 1967 20 1968 13 1969 11 1970 7 1971 12 1972 2 1973 21 1974 8 1975 12 1976 33 1977 40 1978 13 1979 16 1980 37 1981 56 1982 44 1983 65 1984 20 1985 n/a 1986 n/a 1987 24 1988 42 1989 32 1990 12 1991 11 1992 17 1993 38 1994 95 1995 51 1996 51 1997 61 1998 52 1999 116 2000 77 2001 133 2002 90 2003 79 2004 114 2005 204 2006 235 2007 0 International 15
I also went through another $200 worth of 5c coins and found a very worn sixpence. Can't remember the date exactly 19?0 (the ? was very hard to see on the actual coin as well and I can't remember what I decided it was).

The other $200 contained the following amounts (only of the coins I kept!)
1966 33 1967 21 1968 37 1969 17 1970 26 1971 24 1972 4 1973 23 1974 36 1975 30 1976 72 1977 72 1978 18 1979 43 1990 24 1991 31 2007 0 International 29 Other 1
The other is the sixpence mentioned above.

Good going with the sixpence!
I'm feeling very lucky now as I only went through $10 of 5c pieces to get a 2007.

Learjet, So all the 2007 5¢ have migrated up north. Must be all the rain that's attracting them.
gxseries, your 1966 London 5¢ is in the mail.
justa, I'm holding one for you, there's 2 left if anyone else wants one.

Yep Learjet I didn't find a single 2007 5c piece down here in Victoria. I'm still waiting on the 2007 50c piece as well

I find it facinating how 'new' coins are distributed. I saw all 2007 Issues quite soon locally, except for 2007 50c. Now in the last week, theyre in every second bag I go thru! Same goes for the 5c issue; I was finding those very early in the piece, but NONE in Vic still! I wonder how the distribution ACTUALLY works?
