This poses an interesting grading/authentication exercise. Is it the real deal and does it "make" P01? Let me be clear that I'm not necessarily recommending anybody jump on this, as there are inherent risks buying something like this raw from overseas. I would argue this coin is ungradeable since it appears to be impossible to tell the mintmark (if there even was one in the first place).

It's certainly a P-01 in my book! What a find!

I agree with atlas; although it is a nice lowball, it cannot be graded as the mint-mark area is entirely worn beyond legibility.

Going out on a limb here but does anyone else think it might be a fake. The Date looks wrong especially the 6.

CalzoneManiac, I'll take it one step further. Crap-00 Details. The surfaces just don't look right to me. Haha!

It looks genuine, just too worn and possibly bent. As the others mentioned, too far gone to tell mint mark or lack there of.

I don't want to sound overly judgmental here or anything, but I'm slightly surprised it's authentic considering it's from hong kong. There's a lot of fake "US coin" sellers from Hong Kong.

Even if it is genuine it likely would not grade due to unnatural wear patterns on the obverse. You can't use a belt sander to get to PO-1.
