I really am sorry, but I don't find this type of alloy streaking to be attractive. Fortunately, you do, and that is much more important.

I agree with moxking. Really nice coin, but the wood grain on this one is just too distracting. But as long as you like it,

I'll vote for liking the way this coin looks. My other hobby being art, I find the streaking interesting.

Sorry, not a woody IMO. Appears to be old, removed tape damage to me. You can see where it laid, it didn't still well in the recessed areas.

Yeah, noD..I agree with thad, looks like leftover scotch tape, lots of folks used tape to hold coins in place.

All streaks , obverse and reverse, are oriented in the same direction. I might be wrong of course. As always, I appreciate all input. Any grade opinions?

AU/MS details, hard to tell if there's wear....I lean toward MS if there's cartwheel luster, AU if not.

Without seeing it in hand, I will have to respectfully disagree with Thad on this one. Looking at the recess below Lincoln, the lines are very strong. That would seem to me the least likely place for tape to stick. As the lines go up the coin, they tend to fade out. Imagine a blob of improper alloy mix being rolled from bottom to top. Makes sense to me anyway.

, the grain is apparent on both sides and points in the same direction when the coin is flipped. IMO it's ugly but it is a woodie.

I agree with woodie as well. I have an earlier Lincoln Wheat cent with a very similar wood grain look to it.

I'm in the Woodie camp, looks like a clear alloy issue on the obverse. Not so much on the reverse, but it's there.
