As I was browsing coin forums and sales I noticed there's some kind of premium for PO-01 graded coins. I have a Mercury dime I've had for some time now and was wondering if ya'll think it would make the cut.

I used my loupe and can tell that it is a 1917, I am pretty sure it's an s mint but could be a muddled d mint maybe.

The obverse is a little more worn than an example PCGS has of an FR-2 but the reverse on mine is far more worn than the FR-2. I couldn't find a good example of a PO-01 so was wanting opinions. Is it worth sending in to a TPG? Which TPG should I use if so?

(If the pictures are too poor of quality I can try uploading more but I am simply using an android phone on my lap, I have nothing better and, to be honest, I don't plan on buying any extra camera gear because I don't take enough pictures to be worth it.)

There are a lot of low ball collectors out there. that's probably why the premium. I think your 17-S should qualify for a PO-01 grade. To slab or not is your call.

That would make it at poor 01. I have seen better looking coins than that get a Po01 grade! But, you might get a "details" marking on he slab.

As PO-01s go, another nice one!

Boy, I'm glad we don't all collect the same thing.
