I can't see much 'green stuff' with the pics provided but a q-tip with a small amount of acetone should help.
Nice early Lincoln, VF-25

acetone would help. Could be corrosion, PVC, or who knows what else. Nice looking semi key wheat. VF-25

I'll go VF-35, and I'd leave it alone other than an acetone dip.

This is, to me, the perfect candidate for Verdi-Care. Prototypical coin. Nice circulated early branch mint example with no major distractions, and a small amount of something green. Verdi-Care is capable of taking care of PVC plasticizer as well as verdigris; it's just not as cost-effective as acetone when PVC is the known culprit. This will be a nice example indeed once conserved.

Thanks everyone for the help with grade (safe to say solidly in the VF range) and advice about acetone and Verdi-Care. I've actually been thinking of buying some of the later - so this seems like a perfect opportunity to do so.

VF-25 , Use Verdi-care on reverse wheat stalk . not acetone. looks like verdigris and also in between all letters at top of reverse.

Nice coin...low mintage. VF-35 (nearly EF40)
How about close-ups of the corrosion?
You have simple verdigris, it's not PVC or anything else. This is the type of corrosion problem I developed VC for, IMHO - there is no better option for this coin. It's a $50-60 coin and professional conservation will cost nearly that in the end. It's nice and valuable enough that it needs to be saved but not worth paying someone to conserve it for you.
If you don't want to attempt conservation yourself, the next best solution is to use acetone on it (dehydrates the corrosion and surfaces) and immediately put it into an airtite. This will greatly slow the corrosion process and preserve the coin a few more years.

I knew my first gut feeling was right; VF-35 was initially what I had but I said VF-25 due to probably pressure from the first several comments

I'd go VF30 details. Tough date and well struck to boot. Yeah, get that stuff off of there!
