As usual, I'm not great with the camera, but here are three photos of the second 1985-D. Anybody know if it's a DDO?

Nice...I'm no expert on Lincolns either, but something interesting is happening with that N in IN.

I am still very unsure as too how to spot a double die as opposed to a coin with Machine Doubling. As I am very much into coin hunting and now have a high power digital and just bought a tripod today for coin photography I am interested in if anyone can help me distinguish what to look for in seperating the two. What do I have here? Thank you!

I don't see anything that resembles hub doubling (doubled dies) on any of the coins imaged in this thread.

A doubled die is going to noticeably thicken the overall size of the letters and leave notches at the corners where the two hubbings overlap. No easier way to explain it, but the difference between doubled dies and other forms of doubling is obvious.

It appears to be more a play of light on a normal coin to me...not doubling at all.
