Hi, I'm new to your forum. Thought maybe someone could shed light on two bills.. The first is a1988 one dollar bill missing the serial number and seal. It seems to be in decent condition. The second is a five dollar bill from 1953 B. Does anyone know what they might be worth? Attached images.

The top note appears to be missing the 3rd printing. (The back is printed first, the front is printed next with the 2nd printing and then the seals and serial numbers are printed with the 3rd printing.) A lot of times on notes like this the 3rd printing is accidently applied to the back of the note if the sheet is inadvertently inserted into the press upside down. (Check the back of the note.). Notes like this can also be altered to remove the 3rd printing but I see no obvious signs of alternation. If genuine, this error retails in the 150 to 200$ range in circulated condition.
The bottom note is a common 1953-B 5$ silver certificate in circulated condition. Notes like this can be bought at coin shows all day long for a few dollars over face value.

Agree with westernsky (well summarized). There is something that looks a bit off on the first note, but probably my imagination.

to CCF! I have a hard time believing that the $1 is a genuine error. All the wrinkles in the paper could be a sign of bleaching. The $5 bill is worth $6 or $7.

Something is off with the first note, maybe bleached (but keep it anyway!). Nice $5 bill! It's worth 7-$8.

I swear I can see a D on the $1.00 note.

Could we see an image of the reverse side of the one dollar note?

I was thinking bleached as well from the pic of the $1 note.

Per your request I've uploaded a photo of the note's back. Regarding the front, I see what looks like a ghost image of a "B" where the seal should have printed. Is it possible it's an imprint left from the ink running out? If the bill was bleached I assume the motive is to create a fake error note to sell, correct? I live in Manhattan. Can someone recommend a dealer nearby to examine the bill?

Once circled I thought I saw a "b" as well. Makes sense if you are in ny. If it was bleached whoever did it knew what to remove and what to leave. Seems to be missing everything from from the third printing only. I would imagine that it would be hard though to remove the green seal from the right side and somehow leave the letters underneath. A local dealer might be youp best bet.
