Pcgs graded this Draped bust graded it VF with environmental damage. Is the environmental damage verdigris? If so, would it make sense to treat the coin with verdicare and take it out the holder?

In its current state, what would the approximate value of this coin be in your opinion? Thanks for any and all help

Porosity, not verdigris.

Would need better, full color pictures with detail to even attempt a grade or attribution.

These were scans from a friend, so I'm sorry if they are bad quality. Would this be a coin to stay away from? He basically wanted to know if it was worth buying or not but given the extent of the corrosion or porosity Id say it would be worth a pass

It doesn't look terribly bad. I wouldn't count it out just yet. If the price is right, and he likes the coin, he should buy it. If he's not done his homework about this particular date and its varieties, more caution is in order.

Better pics are needed. The coin definitely has potential. Are there any True View photos on the PCGS site?

Personally, I would pass. Could be a hard sell down the road.

The coin in the photo is not in a PCGS slab. Was this coin removed from a slab as the coin appears to be sitting on a hard surface and casting a shadow?

Hard to tell but appears to be S-188 by that last 9.
