Hi. I am not understanding what is going on with the mint mark. I have never seen this before. I am also assuming On the reverse the letter "U" & the letter "R" is machine doubling. Any knowledge with the mint mark will be very helpful. Thanks!

The MM looks like a damaged punch and the reverse looks like VLDS.

It can't be from a damaged punch. The mint marks are part of the design since 1990. It is actually Die Deterioration. The die is entering the VLDS (Very Late Die State) and is showing a breakdown on the devices on both sides. The die flow lines is an indicator of LDS. On the reverse there is evidence of die flow, machine damage and Die Deterioration on the EPU. A is lot going on with your coin, but nothing of premium for your coin. You can save it as an educational piece or spend it.
