Pics aren't great, but this is a fake. Most likely a cast copy. The date is mushy, and has the cast look, I've seen these before. The obverse die markers are missing. LIBERTY, motto, and date are wrong. Seller is probably unaware so I sent them a message. Let's see what happens.

I see a "D" on it! Almost looks like it was damaged by excessive heat to try and make the "D" go away.

May not be counterfeit but it sure isn't worth anything.

Anyway, a one day private auction would lead you to believe there is something fishy with the coin.

Nice catch on the 24hr auction, I reported it just to try and get ahead of the curve.

Ed....check out his 16-D dime and 09-S Indian, too. Both look suspicious.

Interesting that the seller is spacing out his questionable expensive unslabbed coins in 24 hour auctions between legitimate low priced coins.

Some are private auctions, some are not. Huge red flags.

The 1916 D dime and 1909 S IHC both look fake, and the lemmings are bidding like crazy.

edit: I started threads on them in the Classic section.

Clearly wrong, doesn't match any of the 3 dies. Guessing it was altered - doesn't look like a cast copy to me. Good eye, edweather.

Fake, looks like the typical one from China.

I reported it originally too. It's such a bad fake even the ebidiots know it. Would sell for over $800 if real and holdered.
