I'm not voting as I don't really follow these coins but I will guess that since USA has ten times the population of Canada, there are ten times the U.S. members of coincommunity compared to Canadians, so the Silver Eagle will win easily. Sometimes sentiment wins over price, quality, etc. I could be wrong.

I like them both, but I have many more ASE's than ML's. I collect ASE's in albums, rolls and mint box/special sets. Even have a few slabbed. ML's ... Just have a Dansco, one for each years. That album might be half done.

Oops. Accidentally voted for the Maple Leaf. I like the ASE. It's American, like I. CML- Milk Spots. That Lady. She's on everything. Has 4 nines but does that really matter...

I have a lot more ASE than Maples but I do like the Maples design more. The RCM design of the Maple leaf as well as the head shot of the queen is quite nice. The 2014 and 2015 Canadian Maples redesign is some what of a let down. I don't collect those at all. I collect as many Maples from 2013 and later that come from the RCM in their sealed pouches. Those I like due to the lack of milk spotting. Recently I added a 1993 seal Maple for the sum of $19. If I could get more along that price range I wouldn't complain.

American silver eagles have a ridiculous and annoying premium.

Design: Even. ASE's are nice, but the obverse is from the Walking Liberty half dollar, which is a better looking coin with a lot more character. Maples are not bad looking, though they are a bit boring, much like the Washington quarter. Price: Maples all day long. Quality: I guess ASE's win because of milk spot issues on Maples (I have had only minor issues on mine) but Maples are 9999, which is a slight plus.

Epic battle! I really enjoy both of them. Love the cleanness of the Maples but the ASE is just a gorgeous classic.

My vote was for ASE. It carries a beautiful and iconic design (although it is time for a revamp on both sides, methinks), and comes well struck. And as I always say, they are your "modern" silver dollar. Not that I wouldn't like to have a few Maple Leaf's in my measley little stack, but I'm not crazy about them. My preference as Canadian silver goes is for the pre-1968 silver dollars. Less silver, but the premium is also lower, and they carry a nice design. And I like the younger portraits of Elizabeth II anyway.
