Ebay New Format?

All I know is their new app update is horrible. Go to the comments on the new app including mine in the play store.

I agree that the app is horrible. It's hard to get use to. I don't even want to use it anymore.

1.5 stars on the Apple App Store. Mostly complaining about update 4.0...

I think a lot of it is due to the need to accommodate the ever-increasing mobile user demographic, which is often done at the expense of more PC-oriented aesthetic and function.

This move to mobile crap, they might as well just remove the internet capabilities of PCs if that is the case and nothing will work unless its mobile. Windows 10 is crap because it gives your PC the mobile LOOK. I have a mobile device. its wifi is disabled. it is a e-book reader and thats it. I put my Gameboy away MANY years ago because the screen was too small for anything other than playing Tetris.

Tesla made the first electric induction motor. Guess how EVERY motor in use today is made? They didn't change and businesses seem to be doing fine. No you don't have to change/"evolve" with some new art school of thinking. When was the last tax form you saw with all sort of flowery headers, image sidebars, etc. Tell me the last time you saw an accounting ledger with either of that?

Want to know a secret, mobile webpage have been around since the 90s when people started using m as a subdomain for mobile use like m.twitter.com and since a webserver can tell what browser is being used it can send the correct formatting to ANY browser. They don't want people employed or they wouldn't be getting rid of their mobile website teams in favor of EVERYthing looking mobile ready which means you need only 1 team. Why have 2 teams when you can have 1 and charge more still for lesser product? ebay is jsut like anywhere else that raises prices and lowers quality/quantity of product.

They can have both PC and mobile content easily with having a team jsut to work on the mobile design, while the data will be the same just how the output looks changes. Same as how I typed this post in Notepad with word wrap off, but in HTML when the database has given this post to the correct PERL/php/CGI script it is formatted with a "carriage return"/"line break" so nobody has to scroll left and right to read it; but instead fits within the viewable pane on the screen. And, it doesn't take aNabi BIG Tab to be able to read the contents of this post as well the post above and below it.

I haven't seen any mobile app I like at all, it all harkens to bad design for things like a Gameboy and too many pages are trying to make all-in-one websites that are formatted for mobile to display on PC!

You need a mobile design team and a PC design team for your website.

The funniest thing is you don't even need a mobile special page formatting anymore because most all browsers now on mobile can visit a normal webpage like this one and it displays correctly if the page formatting isn't wasting the real estate. Well here it does waste the real-estate with bad formatting for mobile, but that is a decade old problem with sidebars in general, but I am sure anyone using ebay could load up Chrome on their android device or Safari on their Apple device and just go to the ebay via browser rather than an app. UNIX cares not how you output it, it will send anything form the internet the same way it always has, its only an output problem and page design problem and people need to stop trying to be flashy (not shockwave but original definition) and "edgy" and just remember programming basics. GIGO, KISS, and FFF (form follows function).
