Added this to the 1935 SC star set this weekend. The 1935H was the last note in the 1935 series and was issued during the 1863-1965 era, bearing the same signature combination as the 1957B SC. A very common note, though the print run at 30M was a fraction of the 1957 issues.

Gemmy example Mr.Frog, very nice.

Add in some minor handling and add 18K to the serial number and you end up with something like this. They're almost cousins.

Been very busy with work and family. But finally got around to posting again. The currency gods rained down their favor on me, and awarded me with these beautiful star notes (all crisp uncirculated from BEP straps). There was only one MF (Atlanta) run for 2013 and the run size was 128,000. These notes are going to be a cornerstone of my collection. I got lucky again last week and found one in the wild from a Russian customer who changed about $50 Dollars. One of the $10s was a star note again from this run. Making the final tally five notes from this low print run. Yippee.

Congrats on your 2013 $10 Atlanta stars.

A tough find for sure. I look every day for these and the 2013 $10 Richmond star (ME*) printed in February. My example was also from Europe, which is where I believe the ME*s will also be found, if at all. The ME stars were a mere 64k.

Steve - I have a question about those 1935H SCs. They were apparently in production at the same time as the 1957B SCs but were printed in a substantially smaller amount. Why was it necessary to print them at all, or was it simply to get the full buck () out of the plate lives?

If I had to guess, I believe the BEP ran both series simultaneously to fulfill the country's needs for aces.
The BEP printed over 5M 35E's just years previous, and it looks like they needed about 1M ones per year to keep up with a growing economy.

This is hardly an earth-shaker, but I added this to my Series 1935 $1 SC star set this weekend. The 1935G With Motto is scarcer than the No Motto variety but still a very common note. It was printed simultaneously with the Series 1957A SC, which bears the same signatures, in 1961-1962.

Just two more to go to finish the set!
