Quote:how high a value really would a silver
Kennedy half be? If it has been floating around for a while before being found it likely isn't anywhere near AU-50. Not really sure what the ping test might be that is so scary, you are just doing the same thing the mint did when coins are made, letting them hit each other. You could do it with a flip of the fingernail and have more fun guessing if you will catch it heads or tails, but its the sound either way you are looking for. Just did it with my 2 Morgans and 2 1969 Kennedy and I can hear the same sound, which is different than the 2001 Kennedys. They are circulation/business strikes, so give em the business I say!
*Note: Now after saying that I wouldn't do the same with my 2000
ASE cause it came to me all shiny and pretty-like, so I will try to keep it that shiny and pretty until the elements deem it otherwise.
This wouldn't be a standard run of the mill circulated Kennedy. This would be an error, with a copper coin made on a silver planchet. It could be worth thousands to the right collector- definitely work handling carefully, even if circulated!
