Thanks for sharing SPP! I wonder why it seems the dime is predominate for whatever causes the dark colour and not other denominations?
Perhaps of interest on the side topic of artificial colouring of Cdn coins, it's not illegal. It just voids the face value. From the Bank of Canada Act -- "No coin that is bent, mutilated or defaced, or that has been reduced in weight otherwise than by abrasion through ordinary use, shall pass current."

Now you need a dime collectors who really likes this missing anneal, adding burning flames or a black finish I guess what someone considers is defacing.

Or, give it a catchy name... like "Black Beauty"...

I have one of those "Black Dimes" too. Mine is mostly black with veins of copper, silver and red running through it. Since PCGS stated it to be anomalous, I'm sure it will be worth some serious money soon once someone spends the cash to have it certified. It is definitely a dime, weighs 2.2 gr . Rim appears to be copper.

That one should be pure nickel Hounddog (unlike the multi-ply plated coin above), I think it looks more like toning. I have nickel dollar that look like that from water exposure...
