1954-S Jefferson nickel Missing A in America

This 1954-S Jefferson nickel is missing the first A in America -> Merica on the reverse

I assume the area effected was filled with Grease is what caused this? but I don't know enough to confirm this?

Any feedback, suggestions or comments welcome as always...

I agree. Struck Through Grease that almost totally filled that device on the die.

Some in my native state of Georgia would argue this is the proper way to spell 'Merica!

In the fourth picture it even looks like there is a ' where the A was. I'd put it in a 2x2 labeled: 'MERICA Grease Filled Die. Just because of the coincidence
