it looks like it would be a clash, but I highly doubt that its real, and I'm no expert

It looks like a fake die clash. The color on the coin does not look correct and the rims also appear off. If this coin was real, it would be highly collectable and the seller would be hyping the die clash. It is an interesting coin and almost worth spending $22 to get the coin in hand. If there was a VAM for this die clash, it would be the king of VAMS.

Looks exactly like one I got duped buying at a local flea market. Even the clash positions match. Same die? The original topic is here: https://goccf.com/t/193713

Slur, I like your coin better as it has some nice toning. Both coins came from the same die. Can you give some more information about your coin as the weight, material, and cost?

All I know about it is in my thread. Weight is 26.972 grams. I don't know what it is made of, but it rings like some copper alloy to my ears. There isn't toning on mine, just grime. I really want to get the one on ebay now, but I just don't shop online, and the auction's got 5 days to go. It'll be taken down before that.

SlurExe97 - Thank you for posting the photo of your specimen, which makes it much more obvious that there's a "die clash" on the obverse. I can't imagine if yours has been verified as a fake that the one on ebay right now isn't also. I wonder what the source for these is.

It is a die clash, a massive one. I have a hunch these specimens come from Russia. The ebay listing places its item location there, and the flea market person I bought mine from also has a Russian name (or at least, the name he has on his table is Russian). Steve Caruso might be interested to see this. By the way, has anyone seen SsDd around? On an unrelated note, does anyone know why does almost every ebay listing I visit states "Does not ship to Indonesia" in the shpping section? I'm clearly not in Indonesia right now.

Quote: Steve Caruso might be interested to see this. He had posted in your original thread, and I think from his comments there that yes, he'd want a shot at buying this latest example.

Thanks, Coinfrog.
Steve is busy now, so I hope he won't mind if I send him a PM. I'll send him one tonight.

This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing. Does that mean there's no more way of getting it?

Message the seller and make him an offer
However, he could have ended it because someone else did just that

I did PM Steve about this last night. He hasn't replied, but he might have seen the listing. Aaand looks like I'll need an ebay account to do that. I don't have the time right now with midterms coming up.

Maybe Steve got it? Or told the guy it's bogus and he took it down?
