Picked this up recent for $2 for curiosity value.

It looks like a contemporary counterfeit 1888 S Seated dime.

Core is lead, with a copper plating, and very feint traces of silver plating ontop of that.

In the 6th grade at West Ward Elementary school in Mckinney, Texas in 1960 our teacher was collecting lunch money and some kid tried to pass off a lead Walking Liberty half dollar.

The teacher passed the coin around the room so we could all learn from it.
