I was doing some online research into U.S. Peace dollars with Liberty engraved into a skull, and stumbled upon this comparable British rendition. I'm not certain what this example's denomination was. Would this have been (or might even now be) a crime against the Crown, at least while the monarch was still reigning or the coin had not been yet demonetized? Of course, there's the possibility this might've been done outside the jurisdiction of the U.K. Colligo ergo sum

Here's another, identified as being the work of one John Hughey.

It looks like it might be a British florin (10 pence piece under decimalisation) from 1937-1951) though I can't find a photo of one where the legend reads Ind:imp The reverse should look something like this... Certainly very interesting, and well done...clearly someone with some time on his hands.

A lot of this work has been done in recent years. As long as the denomination is no longer in use, it is perfectly legal (or so I'm sure I read)

Amazing stuff, and I'm pretty sure you can't get in trouble for defacing money, at least not in the UK. I think it is just one of those old rules that common sense prevailed over.

Some coin artwork is nice; some isn't. I am not keen on this one, but at least, it is innovative.

Quick google and it's either a Canadian 25cent or 50cent pre 1947 when they dropped Ind Imp as Indian gained independence.
