I did pick up some dimes this week, that I hope were a little better than the ones I had. It seems like my upgrades have only been slightly better lately. The Barber dime has a lot more eye appeal, in hand. The Barber I am taking out will be a big upgrade to my Barber dime album. The Seated dime is maybe just a little better, but I wanted the CC dime. Any opinions?

The CC dime is definitely a nice choice for the 7070.

Nice pickup. In particular I like the CC dime.
I like a good variety of mint marks for the type set.

Nice upgrades. That Barber is really sweet and all CCs are great investments.

I wasn't sure I was going to swap out the Seated dimes, they are very close to the same grade. But that CC was sitting on my desk for a week, I could not think if a reason not to swap them out ... I think my second page 7070 is starting to really improve. I might have to make a effort to upgrade some more of them.

Nice job on the upgrades!
On a side note, I also have a 1914-D dime in my type set.

"CC" in the wreath as well. Nice. Variety G-101/F-112, easy to spot due to the "Wide CC". If it has 113 reeds in the collar versus 89, than its an F-112a. Notes from the leading expert: Quote: Variety 112a is the result of Obverse 3 and Reverse H die strikes with a 113 reed collar. Initial Obverse 3 and Reverse H coinage listed as Variety 112 is found with left over 89 reed collar from 1874. Both the obverse and reverse are well struck with Obverse 3 exhibiting a weak date punch that slopes downward. The CC mintmark is widely space on Reverse H and there is a faint die crack from the top of the left wheat grains to the rim above the top of the right wheat grains.
Until early 2012, the author only had evidence that Reverse H examples were struck from a reverse die with a left ribbon end anomaly and with 113 reed standard collar employed at the Philadelphia and San Francisco mints. In late February 2012, (COLLECTOR) identified a Variety 112 specimen with 113 reeds and no reverse die anomaly. This finding provides evidence that the transition from the old style 89 reed collar to the standard 113 reed collar was not related to the reverse die anomaly during the striking of coinage from the Obverse 9 and Reverse H die pair.

Dsfreeworld Thanks for all the good information. The album is back in the bank box. I will have to check it next time it is out. Just to better understand what you posted.

At the moment, my 7070 is made up mostly of fillers that I need to replace eventually. I admire your diligence.
